Siret Siilbek

Siret Siilbek is specialised in the fields of real estate, construction law and judicial proceedings. She has advised both contractors and clients in disputes on various complicated matters concerning construction contracts. Siret is also profoundly interested in bankruptcy law and advises and represents debtors and obligees in bankruptcy proceedings. Siret is also a member of the Expert Committee for Insolvency, which has been formed by the Estonian Ministry of Justice and which deals with questions related to insolvency regulation and gives expert assessments. She also gives lectures, both in-house and at public trainings and seminars.

The world’s largest law firms’ evaluation publication Legal500 has acknowledged Siret personally, describing her as punctual and reliable, and her team stands out for its very good communication skills. In 2020, Siret was recognised by Legal500 publication in the fields of dispute resolution and real estate and construction. Before founding the Law Firm ALTERNA, Siret worked as an attorney-at-law at the Law Office Alvin Rödl & Partner (now Glikman, Alvin & Partnerid). At ALTERNA, Siret manages the fields of real estate and construction law and takes care also of the development of the fields of restructuring and insolvency.​

Siret was appointed as member of the professional suitability assessment commitee of Estonian Bar Association. Siret will start working as a member of the professional suitability assessment commitee of Estonian Bar Association on 13.06.2021.

In the field of construction contracts Siret has represented different clients, as well in court, as in out-of court disputes, including for instance:

• Representation of Eventus Ehitus OÜ in Pärnu Beach Stadium public procurement dispute, that incorporated matters connected with qualification of a tenderer and interpretation of qualifying conditions.
• Representation of „RBSSKALS Būvsabiedrība“ Estonian branch in court dispute connected with matters of construction budget, including representation in Supreme Court.
• Compiling the basics of subcontracting agreements, contractor agreements, engineering contracts and material supply contracts of several construction companies.

In insolvency proceedings Siret has represented as well, different debtors, as creditors in different matters and stages of insolvency proceedings. Siret is active as a member of bankruptcy committees. Some examples of Siret´s work in insolvency proceedings:

• Representation of a real estate company in debtor´s bankruptcy proceedings, including disputes over defending the claims and auction of assets.
• Representation of insolvency administrators in disputes connected with asset recovery to the bankrupt´s estate, including as well movable property, as in disputes connected with recovery of securities transfer transactions.
• Defence of a construction company´s rights until pronouncement of bankruptcy in Supreme Court and by asserting a claim of civil partnership agreement to co-operation partner.
