Law Firm ALTERNA’s attorney-at-law and partner Annika Vait wrote about labour law amendments initiated by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The Ministry of Social Affairs adopted a legislative intent to amend the regulations of working time and specified term employment contracts, as well as the regulations of occupational health and safety.

The planned amendments include the possibility to work based on miinimum-maximum working hours or to work as an employee with independent decision making power, to whom the regular working and resting hours would not apply. It is also planned to ease the possibility to conclude employment contracts for specified term. In addition, there are also planned amendments concerning occupational safety. They are predicted to enter into force in year 2020.
