The management board of Estonian Bar Association named attorney-at-law Siret Siilbek a member of insolvency law committee, and attorney-at-law Annika Vait a member of business law committee for the next term of office.

The purpose of Estonian Bar Association committees is to assist and counsel members of the Bar Association about legislation and legal practice of a certain legal field. The committees analyse legislation and legal practice and propose amendments. Committees can express their views of other matters in legislation or legal practice.

ALTERNA’s partner and attorney-at-law Siret Siilbek is continuing work in insolvency law committee, which is mainly dealing with analysing legislation and legal practice in the field of insolvency law. The committee proposes assessments and proposals for amending legislation or legal practice, and assists the management board of the Estonian Bar Association in the matters of the committee’s working areas. The committee participates in the ongoing reform of insolvency law, contributing to the development of the new Bankruptcy Act.

ALTERNA’s partner and attorney-at-law Annika Vait is continuing work in business law committee. The committee is analysing the legislation and legal practice of business law and competition law and proposing legislative amendments. Through the committee, which is carrying out the reform of business law, Annika Vait also contributes in developing Estonian legislation. Other tasks of the committee is to propose assessments, assist the management board of the Estonian Bar Association and represent the Bar Association in the matters of the committee’s working areas.
